A 27-year-old British girl who was enjoying a trip to Italy with her husband tragically lost her life following a violent fall from a bicycle in an area heavily visited by tourists.
“It’s a very steep trail and although the woman was wearing a helmet she was thrown pretty hard and there was nothing to do. It’s not an asphalt road, it’s a gravel track, so it can be a bit difficult to get there,” a source told Italian newspaper “Il Giorno,” according to “The Independent” on Sunday.
The young woman visiting the shores of Navazzo di Gargnano, a tourist region on Lake Garda in northern Italy, when she allegedly fell off her bicycle alongside her partner, the British media continued .
Even if she was wearing a protective helmet, she would have suffered fatal injuries. After the arrival of the rescuers on the scene, she would have been airlifted in hospital center where her death was pronounced.
For her part, her 27-year-old husband was also taken to hospital in shock.
The couple, who had just toured the Dolomites together, were due to return to the UK on Tuesday, according to ‘The Independent’.
