The famous Russian singer Anna Netrebko will most likely not perform in concert at the Municipal House in Prague on October 16. On Monday, in fact, the five parties that make up the current center-right government coalition, and which also form the leading team for the mayor of Prague, spoke out once morest the holding of the event, while the singer appears on Ukraine’s sanctions list, which target various Russian personalities.
Although this is only a recommendation, the management of the company which is responsible for the events organized at the Municipal House, a building which belongs to the city of Prague, will start negotiations with the agency which organizes the concert of the conditions of cancellation of this one.
“All coalition parties categorically oppose holding this concert in Prague. Everyone thinks that at a time when the war is going on and when we read articles every day in the media regarding the victims of the Russian attacks, it is indecent for such an artist to perform here, in Prague. We have also asked the management of the Municipal House to start negotiations with the agency that organizes this concert”, explained Deputy Mayor Jiří Pospíšil.
