Never Without You, Louna: A Heartrending True Story of Fighting for Justice

2023-08-15 06:04:22

This Tuesday, August 15, Rod Paradot and Chloé Jouannet lend their features to a couple forced to fight for years to recover custody of their child. A story inspired by real facts, to discover from 8:30 p.m. on La Trois.

This TV movie inspired by real events tells the fight of Sabrina et Yoan Bombardtwo parents who saw each other unfairly remove custody of their baby for abuse. In vain did they repeat that their granddaughter, Louna, had a angioedema, an inherited disease which causes swelling of the subcutaneous tissues, the social authorities and the doctors remained deaf to their numerous appeals. Ultimately, the young parents had to fight for almost 4 years to recover Louna, placed in a foster family.

Faced with this crying situation of injustice, they therefore wished to restore the truth through a book entitled “Never once more without you, Louna”. A testimony mixing emotions and revolt, which was soon to be adapted for television by the director Yann Samuell, to whom we also owe “Children’s Games” and “The War of the Buttons”.

Un casting excellent

To interpret the Bombards on screen, Yann Samuell calls on Rod Paradot, revealed in 2015 by “La tête haute”, a film which earned him the César for best male hope, and Chloe Jouannetwhich we saw last year in “Notre dame brule” and “Mon héroïne”.

Facing them, we also find Alice Taglioni under the guise of Claire Weiss, a child psychiatrist mandated to draw up the psychological portrait of Louna and her parents. A character created for the needs of fiction, which the actress had initially refused to interpret. “I did not want to say such a terrible thing”, she explains in effect at the microphone of TF1. It was following talking with her agent and realizing that it was a true story that she decided to reconsider the proposal. “When I read it once more, I was not angry as I might have been the first time, but in empathy. I wanted to wear it and talk regarding it”she says.

What do Sabrina and Yoan Bombard think of the film?

Seeing the film inspired by their story was of course a moment rich in emotions for the couple. “When I came out, I was shaking”confides Sabrina Bombard during an interview with TF1.

However, both parents are happy to have had the opportunity to tell regarding this ordeal they went through. More than anything, they want their testimonial to be useful and toprevent such an error from happening once more. “I hope there will be a before and an following. I hope it will get things moving,” thus declares Yoann Bombard.

Finally, he also wishes to send a message of encouragement to those who, as was the case for him and his partner, must fight once morest injustice. “Never lose hope”, concludes Sabrina together.

“Never without you, Louna”, it’s this Tuesday, August 15 at 8:30 p.m. on La Trois, and available for 7 days on audio.
