Like any election, and these PASO were no exception, celebrities and outsiders occupied a place as pre-candidates on various lists of electoral fronts: from mayors to seats in Congress and Parlasur, the names of some celebrities such as El Dipy and Luis Brandoni were among the options. Who applied and how it went for each one.

With more than 96 percent of the tables scrutinized, one of the big surprises was the cumbia singer David Adrián Martínez, better known as El Dipy, who performed with Javier Milei’s La Libertad Avanza (LLA) space, and managed to win as a second force in La Matanza, one of the historical bastions of Peronism.

The tropical singer received 23.07 percent of the votes, and was below Unión por la Patria, which obtained 44.81 percent of the votes.

The result of the primaries was also favorable for Marcela Pagano, journalist and former television host, who ran as a pre-candidate for national deputy for the LLA, the force with the most votes in the country. In this way, if the good choice of Javier Milei is maintained, Pagano might occupy a seat in Congress, since on the list she obtained 1,921. 758 votes and she is in second place behind Alberto “Bertie” Benegas Lynch.

Meanwhile, the celebrities who chose to join Together for Change also performed well. Maximiliano Guerra, Argentine dancer and choreographer who led the list of national deputies for the City of Buenos Aires for the Patricia Bullrich sector, together with his list “La Fuerza del Cambio” obtained 466,245 votes, for which he would enter the National Congress if the results are repeated in the general elections.

Something similar happened with the actor Luis Brandoni, who presented himself as the first candidate for Parlasur in the province of Buenos Aires by the force of Bullrich, would enter Parlasur, since his list obtained 1,350,367 votes and was below Unión por la Patria .

But not all celebrities met the same fate and some remained very blurred in the popular representation.

The journalist Guillermo Favale, host of the Argentina en Vivo cycle on the C5N news channel, presented himself as a candidate for mayor for the La Costa Party, and came second in the internal election with 6,154 votes. In his list, the “Celeste and White 31” won Juan Pablo De Jesús, with 13,130 votes.

For his part, Mario Markic, a TN journalist who ran as a candidate for governor of Santa Cruz within the internal space of Por Santa Cruz, obtained 2,726 votes, falling far behind the candidate with the most votes, Claudio Legizamón with 53,692 votes.
