”The police officers of the Brussels North police zone (Schaerbeek, Evere, Saint-Josse) seized a total of 4,924 drugs, 3,164.71 euros, 361.56g of cannabis, 49.1g of amphetamine and 192 pills of ‘XTC (ecstasy) in the North Quarter, mainly at Rue d’Aerschot, between July 17 and August 11, 2023,’ the area announced in a press release.
”As for the drugs, it is more specifically 3,017 pills of Lyrica and 1,260 pills of Rivotril. We can only see that many of those arrested are in possession of these drugs.” These two drugs, available only by prescription, “are known to have an addictive and disinhibiting effect, which can negatively influence the behavior of some people when taken in a non-medically supervised way.” Their sale constitutes an offense punishable by law.
