In the last six months, 4,172 vehicles were seized in Dubai for violating traffic rules. Most of the vehicles impounded are those that have been modified to increase engine speed and are causing public nuisance.

In addition to more than 4,000 ordinary vehicles, Dubai Police announced that 8,786 electric vehicles have been seized in the past six months. The electric scooters that failed to meet the technical standards as per the 2022 Executive Council Rules were seized.

These matters were announced in a meeting presided over by the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, Lt. Gen. Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, to evaluate the performance of General Traffic in the second quarter of the current year. The move by Dubai Police is aimed at reducing the accidental death rate in the emirate to one in a lakh.

According to this, Al Marri said that the General Department of Traffic has a decisive role in increasing public safety on the roads. In order to reduce accidents, Dubai Police authorities have revealed that they will continue to carry out awareness activities for the general public in collaboration with various departments.
