Less than a week ago, the official premiere of the new generation of the Land Cruiser SUV took place, which got rid of the Prado prefix, instead receiving the 250 index and two design options at once. The day before, an campaign for this model was launched in the United States, in which some amazing parameters of the new Toyota were revealed.
The North American office of the company published on its official website specifications showing the approximate fuel consumption of the Land Cruiser SUV in the combined cycle.
If you believe this information, then in a hybrid version with a 331-horsepower turbo four and a 1.87 kW traction battery, the new Prado will consume only 8.7 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
The figures disclosed, as with all other vehicles, are indicative only. Up-to-date data collected under various operating conditions will not appear until the new Land Cruiser passes the US EPA certification procedure, and then later on in Europe.
However, in order to be safe, automakers often indicate inflated numbers, so in theory the consumption of the new Prado may even be lower than 8.7 liters per 100 km.
If these data are confirmed, then the new Japanese SUV will receive the title of the most economical model in its class, where the Ford Bronco, Land Rover Defender 110 and even the Jeep Wrangler 4xe look much more “gluttonous”, consuming from 11.7 to 13.8 liters of gasoline per 100 km in the combined cycle.
