55-year-old died in hospital after a swimming accident in Lake Rutzing

Shortly following 6 p.m., the man swam west on the eastern shore of the lake. For reasons that are not yet known, he is believed to have lost consciousness and floated motionless on the water’s surface. His 32-year-old son noticed this and immediately alerted the emergency services.

Two first responders paddled a stand-up board to the 55-year-old and brought him to shore, where resuscitation began immediately. Among other things, a rescue helicopter, two fire brigades and a police patrol were deployed. Shortly therefollowing, the man was taken to the hospital, where he died shortly followingwards.
