Data centers, fiber, media: these assets that Altice could sell to repay the debt

Investment bankers know Patrick Drahi well. If the boss of SFR has built his Altice group by buying “hundreds of companies” over the past thirty years, the telecoms and media tycoon has also sold portions of his empire, with varying degrees of success.

In 2018, following a movement from the United States, Patrick Drahi was thus one of the first in France to sell its mobile infrastructure, at a price almost never achieved. Half of the pylons of SFR and Meo in Portugal had then been sold to the KKR fund, for the tidy sum of 2.5 billion euros. On the other hand, Altice did not manage to sell its small subsidiary in the Dominican Republic (148 million in turnover), nor its adtech nugget Teads (146 million), which had nevertheless circulated for a time on the market.
