It should have been a party, a fun time. But it turned into a tragedy. This Sunday followingnoon, around 3 p.m., an incident occurred at the fair in La Hestre, in the entity of Manage. While in operation, the “Rock’n’Roll” attraction experienced an anomaly. The restraint bar then opened, freeing seven of the people on board.

”The attraction has moved to safety. Seven people fell while occupying one of the seats”, confirmed Bruno Pozzoni, mayor of Manage, quickly. “One of the cases is more serious because the person fell on his head. She was able to be stabilized and taken to the hospital but she is not out of the woods yet. Two other cases must be the subject of very special attention but the vital prognosis is not engaged. The other people are less seriously injured but are still injured. These are multiple and diverse fractures. There are however, and fortunately, no deaths to be deplored… And we hope that it remains like that.”

Among the victims to be deplored, adolescents aged 12-13 but also older people, in their forties. “Three of the victims are members of the same family. There were a priori two twins and a nephew.” Present on the scene at the time of the tragedy, the mayor further specifies that help arrived very quickly. “We must salute the work of the rescuers. I was regarding twenty meters away when I heard the cries. The victims were all conscious when they were taken care of. They were taken to four hospitals in the region; the CHU Tivoli, Jolimont, the CHU Ambroise Paré and the Marie-Curie hospital.”

Sunny Sunday obliges, there were people on the fair at the time of the tragedy. Many witnesses witnessed the fact and are also shocked. “I made a call on the microphone to inform citizens that a room was open and that they might talk to doctors and psychologists. People who were not injured do not necessarily come out of this unscathed. kind of thing. You also have to be able to provide them with help if they feel the need for it.”

We still do not know, at this stage, how such a tragedy might have played out as the regulations are so strict. “An investigation is now open. The prosecution and the labor auditor have descended on the scene. The profession will be examined and conclusions will have to be drawn. As for the showman, he is heard by the police”, further specified the mayor in early evening. In consultation with the organizers and the police, it was decided to leave the fair accessible. “If unfortunately the news were to change and a death was to be regretted, we will probably take a different attitude.”
