With the coupé version of the Enyaq RS iV, the Czechs prove that they can do premium.
It is said that there are still people who turn up their noses at the Škoda brand. When faced with a choice, they prefer to use more prestigious competitor brands when it comes to company cars.
Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV: The powerful electric SUV with impressive design and power
Blame yourself, so the first reaction in view of the new top model of the electric SUV Enyaq, although this has of course already outgrown the usual company car scheme with a starting price of around 64,000 euros. Because the flagship with the rather complicated name “Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV” not only convinces with beautiful shapes that do not come at the expense of practical use. In fact, the 2.3-tonne top-of-the-line model with 299 hp and 460 Newton meters of torque is by far the most powerful production model from Jungbunzlau, also known as Mladá Boleslav.
The Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV combines style and functionality with plenty of space
Unfortunately, our test car did not come in the eye-catching color “Mamba Green”, which was specially developed for the RS coupé. Thanks to the spectacular LED radiator grille, the Enyaq was hard to miss in everyday traffic. That brings us to the main argument for a new Škoda: Because unlike some of its competitors, the Czechs manage to combine suitability for everyday use and practical use with a beautiful exterior design.
The biggest surprise with the coupe is always that the sloping roofline only minimally restricts the headroom in the rear seats compared to the sedan. Even if you are 1.90 meters tall, you never feel restricted in the rear. One is rightly particularly proud of the largest glass panorama roof ever installed in a Škoda, which further improves the feeling of space. The miracle of space can also be proven factually: 570 liters of trunk volume speak for themselves.
Unsurprisingly, driving the RS iV is at the highest level. The 299 hp push powerfully, at most in fast corners and when braking you are reminded of the stately 2.3 tons curb weight. If you are braver on the road, you will probably get closer to the 17.3 kWh standard consumption. The assistance systems and, above all, the predictive, automatic recuperation prove to be quite useful.
IM TEST: Škoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV
Five-door electric SUV, 220 kW/299 hp, one-speed gearbox, all-wheel drive. Battery 77 kWh (net), curb weight 2352 kg, WLTP consumption 17.3 kWh/100 km, in the test: 21.4 kWh, price from 64,540 euros, test vehicle: 76,684.20 euros.
What likes:
The skilful design, the great workmanship.
What I don’t like:
The faulty traffic sign recognition.
What surprises:
How much space the coupe offers in the rear.
Perfect for:
Anyone looking for a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
