Wien/Stubenberg (OTS) – For the 125th anniversary of the Styrian Association in Vienna, Governor Christopher Drexler invited to Stubenberg Castle on August 12, 2023. Among the guests next to the lord of the castle, Wolf-Georg Schärf: the national councilors Martina Kaufmann and Reinhold Lopatka, state councilor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, member of the state parliament Lukas Schnitzer and Andreas Zakostelsky, chairman of the Steirer in Vienna.
More than 100 guests attended this festive event at Stubenberg Castle on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Christopher Drexler, Governor of Styria, had invited. In his welcome speech, he emphasized the important role of the Styrian Association in Vienna as ambassador in the federal capital. Above all in cultural matters – not least with the well-known Steirerball in the Vienna Hofburg, which will take place next on January 12, 2024.
Styrians in Vienna collect for storm victims
In his speech, club chairman Andreas Zakostelsky thanked Governor Drexler for the long-standing support of the state of Styria for the club. “Our association of Styrians in Vienna has grown sevenfold in the past ten years and now has a proud 1,400 members,” says Zakostelsky. These members are very active – even when it comes to issues in their Styrian homeland. So just last week, a spontaneous call for donations was made for the victims of the recent storm in Styria.
From lock to lock
Among the guests at the reception were National Councilor Martina Kaufmann, State Councilor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, National Councilor Reinhold Lopatka and the Vice Rector of the University of Graz, Markus Fallenböck. The Steier Association in Vienna was also represented by Elisabeth Hakel (deputy chairman) and Philipp Angerer (deputy chairman).
In addition to speeches, the guests were served the finest regional delicacies in the Styrian castle with its impressive Renaissance courtyard. After the reception, a visit to the mobile Styria Pavilion, the House of Biodiversity and the Herberstein Animal World was on the agenda.
