Rosario: hitmen riddled a young man who was riding a bicycle with about ten bullets

A man was riddled with bullets while riding a bicycle in a Rosario neighborhood. Investigators believe it was a hitman attack. The people who murdered him returned following the attack and finished him off in a ditch, according to residents of the area. It is the fifth crime committed in the month in that city of Santa Fe, which accumulates 170 murders.

The attack occurred on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., when López was riding a bicycle through the Bella Vista neighborhood, in the western part of Rosario.

There he was hit by hit men who are still not clear if they were driving a car or a motorcycle, and they shot him, judicial sources reported. The suspects were not identified.

The attack occurred on Garay and Alsina streets. They fired multiple shots at him that ended the life of López.

The autopsy report carried out on the victim’s body is not yet known, to determine the number of bullet impacts he received with precision. Although, in the place, the experts raised ten served pods that will be analyzed to determine if they are linked to any other fact.

The residents of the place told the newspaper La Capital that the victim lived in the area and that the attackers returned following shooting him to finish him off in a ditch where he had been lying.

Prosecutor Ademar Bianchini of the Intentional Homicide Unit was left in charge of the investigation. The judicial officer ordered the crime cabinet to preserve the crime scene, carry out photographic expertise, planimetry, survey of security cameras in the area and testimonials, it was reported.

At the scene of the attack, the Santa Fe Security Minister, Claudio Brilloni, said: “From the Government we are doing everything possible to avoid this type of event.” He also said that the security cameras in the area will be analyzed and testimonies will be collected in order to advance the investigation.

“The neighbors have the same anger that we have,” Brilloni said, adding: “As a man from Santa Fe and a citizen, these types of events also cause me pain.”

In the place, the neighbors ironically applauded the presence of the minister and regarding the fact itself they recounted: “More than fifteen shots were heard. And then I saw a car go by in the wrong direction”.

This was not the only violent event that occurred in Rosario on Thursday night, although it was the most serious.

In a house located in Santa María at 3700, in the southwestern area of ​​the city, a woman suffered minor injuries in a shooting derived from a conflict between acquaintances. Police arrested a man suspected of being responsible for the attack.

While in the southern area of ​​Rosario there was a hail of shots that targeted a house located at España 6900.

Staff from the criminal investigation office of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) revealed that at least 30 bullet wounds in different parts of the house that was shot. Despite the violence of the attack, no injuries were reported.

The most violent month on record this year was February, with 32 crimes, and the lowest peak occurred in June (14).

In one of those crimes in February, the victim was Lucas Matías Piaggio (38). This man was killed by a group of people who were moving in a van. They approached the victim and shot her dead. To clarify this crime, the prosecutor’s office requested help from the population (see separate).

Another of the shocking events that occurred that month was the crime of street artist Lorenzo Altamirano. It is that this young man was murdered randomly to use his body as an “envelope” to send a message in a fight between two factions of Los Monos that were fighting over the businesses surrounding the Newell’s bar.

The department of Rosario has accumulated 170 homicides in 2023, which represents 68 percent of the crimes that occurred in the entire province (248).
