As of August this year, Instagram has around 2.3 billion active users. Instagram CEO Adam Moseri has hinted at the upcoming changes to the platform on his broadcast channel, IG Updates. With the new system available, it will be possible to add a group of people to a group and mention everyone in the group at once instead of mentioning them individually in stories. When tagged as a group like this, everyone in that group will get a separate notification. They can also share it to their own story.
In an Instagram broadcast, Adam Moseri said that a system for tagging a group of people together in a story is currently being tested, and that a group created in this way can be shared by everyone in that group. However, it is not clear when the new feature will be available to users. According to reports, it will be provided to users in the United States first and then to other regions.
