ComediHa! Fest: An Evening with Anthony Kavanagh and Special Guests – A Night of Laughter, Music, and Variety

The evening featuring Anthony Kavanagh got off to a slow start. The arrival of ex-Rock and beautiful ears, Yves P. Pelletier and André Ducharme and the presence of variety elements gave pep to a Gala.

An evening which, before the arrival of the duo, lacked a bit of sparkle. Their presence made it possible to energize this third evening of the ComediHa! Fest presented at the Grand Théâtre de Québec.

Not only the first guests, Alex Fredo, Boucar Diouf and Jay Laliberté, who made his first appearance at ComediHa! Fest, weren’t good, but lacked a bit of spice.

Galas spiced up with elements of variety and not just a parade of comedians are the ones that stand out.

The arrival of Yves P. Pelletier and André Ducharme, in the setting of a residence for the elderly, the Maison des Ti-Vieux, allowed the evening to move to another level. We were treated to the return of the famous character of Monsieur Caron.

There was a reference to the traffic jams in Quebec, when Mr. Caron said he took an hour and a half to get to the residence for the elderly of his friend Armand, even though he lives five minutes away.

“There are more feet in Quebec,” he said. Concerning the 3rd link, Armand let it be known that he was rather thinking of a third kidney because of circulation problems.

The old duo took over a few songs at karaoke with new versions of The wild fire of love et Stop drinkingwhere the lyrics every night, I go out to bars became every night I sleep on the same side.

They then revisited Still alive by Gerry Boulet with, once more, new lyrics.

“I’m the one who doesn’t move often. I’m the one who falls every two minutes. The one who knocks on your window to say hello. I’m the one knocking on your window. I need Love. »

A moment when we might see the musicians who were hidden behind the sets and which allowed the Gala to take off.

Anthony Kavanagh ended the first portion of the show with an amusing number, with photos, where he recounted his career, indicating that young people did not know him.

“When I go to schools, girls are jealous of my braids and guys want to buy pot from me,” he said.

So-so entry

Anthony Kavanagh made a hit-or-miss entrance with a number on inclusivity.

“I want to be a unifier of communities and ethnic groups, but shit, in Quebec, it’s so white. There are no breeds in Quebec. The blackest is in parliament and it’s Bernard Drainville,” he said, not realizing that Quebec had changed a lot and that the Old Capital is more and more multicultural.

He still threw some good gags.

“I have nothing once morest Justin, but with a father named Pet, it’s just bad luck,” he said.

Returning from intermission, Anthony Kavanagh wanted to set up a reunion with the technicians with whom he worked at the start of his career, realizing that they were all very old. We were treated to an urn, a coffin and a troupe of the living dead from the Walking Dead series. A troupe, made up of dancers from The Cast, from the school of Lévis District.Mao, who reached the final of the show Canada’s Got Talent. Which resulted in a dynamic highlight.

Then there were good numbers from Dominic and Martin, Ouellet and Pascal Cameron. The spectacular imitator Geneviève Côté showed up on the boards with the sound of creaking doors, the sound of balls and the cries of tennis players and the ringtones of text messages. She ended her number with Once upon a Time in the West with the sounds of harmonica, eagles, wind, horses, a guitar solo and the vocalizations of this famous tune composed by Ennio Morricone.

Anthony Kavanagh ended the evening with a very good number on his questioning. He delivered the goods.

“For nothing in the world, I would not want to change my beautiful public”, he launched at the end of his number. An audience that was on fire and that was demonstrative throughout the evening.

The ComediHa! Fest are back on Friday evening with the duo Dominic and Martin who will celebrate their 30th anniversary. Guests will include André Ducharme, Neev, Billy Tellier, François Massicotte, Marie Eve Morency, Danick Martineau and PA. Methot. We can also see Charles-Antoine Desgranges, Martin Perizzolo, Jean-François Mercier, Cathy and Silvi.
