Onet-le-Chateau. Top start for a nano walk to discover the stars and planets

2023-08-10 19:09:00

After a beautiful evening among the stars, tomorrow at the Costes Rouges from 9 p.m., why not continue with a fun stroll to (re)discover our planets? This is what the nano walk offers, the start of which is located next to the Pumptrack, where a first panel allows you to get into “the bath” by reviewing the sun. He tells us that it has an average surface temperature of 5,500° (while this followingnoon, it is expected to be 30°, what a loss!), we also understand that this planetary path is on the scale: 1 meter traveled represents 1 million in the sky! Other panels will enrich our discovery throughout this 8 km circuit, which will lead you to the first planets, not very far from each other: Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, on a quiet path that only pedestrians and cyclists can borrow. Then Jupiter which, for walkers, is located at… Lapanouse, then Saturn, a planet which is located 1,427 million km from the sun and therefore for us 1.5 km from the start! And you can, if necessary, take a break, thanks to a few stone benches. There are then several houses and a paved road to reach Uranus, which is located in the heart of Sébazac. It is then necessary to go down to cross the railway, by a small bridge and a path which becomes stony once more, to reach Neptune, just at the junction of the path of Flacet (very close to Flars) and following having crossed the domain of Puech Maynade, we descend on Pluto, the last planet in our solar system, 5,913 million km from the sun, or 6 km for us. A last effort will be necessary, following crossing the railway line, to reach our starting point some 2 hours later (in walking mode!): the sun and the car park! A beautiful walk for an followingnoon with family or friends, a fun trip in the middle of nature, instructive and very pleasant!
