The hostesses and stewards of Air Caraïbes, as well as the ground staff, are called to the strike from August 11 to 15, a movement which should not have an impact on the flight program of the company, a-t- we learned Thursday from concordant sources. The SNPNC-FO, one of the two representative organizations of cabin crew (PNC), at the origin of the appeal, denounces the “managerial practices” of the leaders of the company belonging to the Dubreuil group as well as the inequalities “in the treatment of the different categories of personnel and this for the benefit of the most well-off categories”, according to a press release.

Meetings with social partners scheduled for this week

“There are big disparities in treatment between the populations inside the company which harm its social cohesion”, explained to AFP Philippe Bourgain, union representative of the SNPNC-FO. The organization, majority, did not accept the proposals of the direction at the end of the obligatory annual negotiations (NAO), contrary to the other union, the CGT Martinique, and denounces the refusal of the direction to consult the all employees by referendum to decide, he added.

“Working meetings with the social partners are taking place this week”, for its part indicated in a message to AFP the management, which “strongly deplores this situation in this period of school holidays, a fortiori the weekend of August 15 and especially to the overseas departments. Air Caraïbes “plans to maintain all of its flights”, she adds.

Air Caraïbes operates a fleet of six long-haul A350s and three A330s and flies from Paris to Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, The Bahamas (San Salvador) and Mexico. The Caribbean regional lines served by three ATR-72s from the company are not affected by the strike action.
