A discovery that might be decisive for the history of humanity. A 300,000-year-old skull has been found in Hualongdong, China by a team of scientists. This information presented in a study to be published in the Journal of Human Evolution for September 2023 creates enthusiasm and questions from the scientific community.
Called HDL 6, this humanoid skull discovered in 2019 in the east of the country, has been examined and studied by a consortium of researchers. As a result, the skull, marked by the absence of a chin, presents similarities with that of Homo sapiens, but also other characteristics older than that of the so-called contemporary human, underlines Futura Sciences in his analysis.

According to the report, the skull was that of a 12 or 13-year-old child. The scientists found an anomaly concerning a bone of the jaw, the mandible, the size of which was deemed “archaic” by the consortium.
Failing to rationally understand the age of the bone found, and its genealogical family, the theory of the signatories of the study results in the fact that this skull would have belonged to an individual living in China at the time. from the Middle Pleistocene (-774,000 and −129,000 BC), belonging to a subspecies of the genus Homo, have deciphered our colleagues from Futura Sciences.
