AS Saint-Étienne made it official last night: the central defender trained at the club, Saïdou Sow, leaves AS Saint-Étienne to join Ligue 1 and Racing Club de Strasbourg.
Trained at AS Saint-Étienne, Saïdou Sow made his debut for the pennant team in 2020-2021 in a formation then coached by Claude Puel. He played 28 Ligue 1 games with ASSE for two goals scored and one assist distributed. In Ligue 2, he made 26 appearances with the Greens, including his last once morest Grenoble last Saturday (0-1).
On his Instagram account and this before the formalization of his departure to Strasbourg, Saïdou Sow delivered a farewell message to AS Saint-Étienne and its supporters: “Green people, through these few lines whose writing is imbued with emotions, I would like to thank you for all these beautiful and enriching years which are invaluable in my eyes. You didn’t just watch me grow, YOU HAVE GROWED ME!
I have a singular and special thought for all the people who have contributed directly or indirectly to my training (club employees, supervisors, educators, teachers, coaches, club leaders, employees) who supported, guided and accompanied me until I entered the professional world.
I arrived in this club as a child and I leave as a man with all the love and gratitude that befits!
Green one day, always green ???????? Thank you!”
