It’s a ticket race among Taylor Swift fans on Wednesday, as many scramble to find tickets to attend the singer’s first of six scheduled dates in Toronto in November 2024. However, thousands of fans ended up on the waiting list, but some think that’s a good thing…

At least, that’s what user @gossip_greg added on TikTok on Wednesday.
While he too ended up on the waiting list, Gossip Greg believes that Ticketmaster made this decision to avoid the worst.
According to him, the “Fan Verified” waiting list is only temporary and that many will have access to tickets faster than expected.
“I believe it was Ticketmaster who learned from their last mistake,” he explained on his TikTok video. “They added way too many people to the Verified Fan list last year, and it was a disaster! They lengthen the time,” he said.
Another TikTok user @jessbosnjak mentioned that a tiny fraction of people on the Verified Fan list have received a code.
If a small percentage of people received the code to purchase their tickets, that might be an indication that Ticketmaster is being strategic for that sale.
“They do this to have leftover tickets to participate in the Avion Reward presale. Their goal is not to sell the whole show during the first presale,” she said in her video.
There are indications that people on the waiting list are now getting tickets.
User @octoberotiz, who was also initially on the waitlist, believes it’s temporary.
“If you get a waitlist email, that doesn’t mean you won’t get tickets. I believe that means you will have to wait, until you receive a code later today,” he commented.
