Kirk Cousins’ contract with the Vikings expires in the spring. Vikings owner Mark Wilf declined to answer the question of whether the quarterback would get an extension following the season.

In 2018, Kirk Cousins signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings as a free agent and has since extended it twice more. The 34-year-old is now facing his final year of contract.
As “ESPN” reports, Vikings owner Mark Wilf did not want to answer questions regarding a renewed contract extension. “We’ll leave the decision up to you [General Manager] Kwesi and Coach [Kevin O’Connell]. Our focus is 100 percent on 2023 and getting where we need to be.”
Despite statistically significant numbers – in five years with the Vikings, Cousins had 20,934 passing yards and 153 touchdowns – the haul for the team around the former Commanders quarterback remained meager with a single playoff win.
Financially, however, the move to the Vikings has clearly paid off for Cousins. During his time in Minneapolis, the quarterback earned a whopping $185 million.
Kirk Cousins: Is the big success missing?
The past season ended in a sporty but disappointing way, following finishing in first place with 13 wins and 4 losses in the NFC North. In the wild card round of the playoffs, however, it was immediately over once morest the New York Giants.
The reluctance of the Vikings board to extend his contract might indicate that the upcoming season might be Kirk Cousins’ last in Minnesota.
Vikings owner Wilf has high expectations for the coming season: “Kirk is an excellent leader. He has led the team incredibly over the past few years and we expect great things from him in 2023.”
