[앵커]It’s been a year since Korea’s first lunar orbiter Danuri was launched. Danuri, which entered lunar orbit at the end of last year, has circumnavigated the moon more than 2,600 times and has been doing various missions. Reporter Park Hae-pyeong reports.[리포트]This is the Amundsen Crater, 160 km from the south pole of the moon. At the boundary of the crater, there are 2 landing sites for NASA’s manned lunar exploration and a landing site for our lunar probe. The Hermit-A crater located at the north pole of the moon was also revealed. The unreachable permanent shade area is expected to drop to minus 247 degrees Celsius and contain large amounts of ice. With observations from high-resolution cameras and NASA Shadow Cams aboard Danuri, the main mission is to find the best landing site and water.[김대관/한국항공우주연구원 미래혁신연구센터장 : “연말까지 수행이 되면 원래 계획했던 43곳 정도의 착륙 후보지 촬영이 가능할 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.”]In addition, Danuri sent 2,576 high-resolution lunar photos while orbiting the moon 2,661 times, including lina gamma swirl and thorium element maps, which are representative magnetic anomalies of the moon. Fuel consumption was less than expected, and excellent accuracy and mechanical performance, the mission period was also increased from 1 year to 3 years by 2025.[김대관/한국항공우주연구원 미래혁신연구센터장 : “오류가 거의 없이 완벽하게 잘 수행이 됐습니다. 그러면서 연료가 오차 없이 절약할 수 있는 그런 조건이었고…”]In December, to mark the first anniversary of the Danuri mission, Hang Woo-yeon plans to release photos of potential landing sites on the moon, maps of five types of lunar elements, and maps of the lunar radiation environment.
