CULTURE – What an atmosphere! The sound system in the town center of Châteauroux made several Johnny Hallyday titles resonate in its streets. An exceptional broadcast this Wednesday, August 9 on the occasion of a somewhat special retirement: that of Daniel Leblanc, postman of Castelroussins for 23 years, but above all a fan of the singer.

All smiles, the sixty-year-old hurtled down the cobbled streets to the sound of the titles of his idol. For the occasion he had donned a festive outfit: leather jacket, scarf in the colors of the United States and Johnny Halliday T-shirt. The final touch: a scarf hung on the handlebars, embroidered ” light the fire “.

Looking up at the loudspeakers, he said on the microphone of France Bleu Berry : ” I’m very emotive. For my last professional tour, it’s huge. Before leaving to finish his round, the postman threw a last sentence at the camera: “A legend never dies, we all have something of Johnny in us! “.

On his way, Daniel was greeted and thanked by many residents, some of whom sang along with him some notes of Johnny, carried by his communicative good humor. He also wanted to thank his customers, his team and the merchants of the city center.

His last tour ended in style, the young retiree told the local newspaper La Nouvelle République that he now plans to “enjoy (s) his family, (s) his house”, and of course to travel “near Saint-Barthélemy”, to visit his idol who now rests there.
