Jean-Claude, 83, is still in the kitchen every morning despite his age. He has been practicing his profession for 57 years, now alongside his son and grandson.
The grandfather, the grandmother, the son and the grandson. For the Puechs, baking is a family affair. For Jean-Claude, 83, it is impossible not to put his hand in the dough. “I help them quietly. Besides, my son always tells me: ‘Stop it, it’s hot’”says the baker.
Retiring next year
The philosophy was transmitted to his grandson Gauthier who savors the presence of his grandfather. “It’s awesome. Not many are that lucky. We enjoy the good times, the advice”, he says. Faced with complicated working conditions, Jean-Claude had to resolve to take more breaks and slow down. The grandfather promises, he will stop next year to join his olive trees.
