What is SNK World Championship 2023?
O SNK World Championship 2023 is an esports tournament in which players will compete for the world number 1 position in THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV. Qualifier Tournaments will be held in various regions around the world, of which the 32 winners will compete in the Final Tournament in the fall of 2024. The combined prize pool for all tournaments (Qualifiers and Final) is expected to be at least US$200,000 . Do not miss this opportunity!

・ Certain major esports tournaments will be recognized by SNK as Qualifying Tournaments.
・ The winner of each Qualifying Tournament will guarantee a spot in the Final Tournament.
・Qualifying Tournaments will be divided into two categories: “Regional Qualifiers”, where only players residing in specific regions of the world will be able to win a spot in the Final Tournament; and “Global Qualifiers”, where there will be no restrictions on participants’ residency.

Important
Please note the following regarding the SNK World Championship 2023 (“SWC 2023”):
SNK World Championship 2023 Qualifying Tournaments
・ The rules for each Qualifying Tournament will be dictated by the respective tournament organizers.
・The winner of each Qualifying Tournament will receive a qualifying seat for the Final Tournament (hereinfollowing referred to as “Seat”).
・ If any of the following applies to the person eligible for a Vacancy, the Vacancy will be transferred to the next eligible player. If there are multiple eligible candidates, the Seat will be transferred to another separate Qualifying Tournament.
a) The contemplated player has already won a vacancy.
b) The contemplated player withdraws from the dispute.
c) The eligible player does not reside in the designated region(s) for the Regional Qualifiers.
・ Players must have resided in the region designated for the Regional Qualifiers for a certain period of time to be eligible for a Seat.
・ SWC administration may request proof of residency (and/or other information) from the player awarded a Seat.
・ SWC administration will contact players who have earned a Seat to inquire regarding their willingness to compete in the Final Tournament. Players from whom there is no response (within one week of contact) will be deemed to have dropped out of the match. In such cases, the Seat will be transferred to the next eligible player.
Torneio Final do SNK World Championship 2023
・Final Tournament competitors who have not reached the legal age of majority will need the consent of a legal representative (such as a legal guardian).
・If a competitor fails to attend the Final Tournament, SWC administration may (at its discretion) transfer that player’s Seat to a separate Qualifying Tournament or to another player.
・SWC management will pay (in part or in full) travel and accommodation expenses for each Final Tournament competitor, in accordance with standards to be determined separately at a later date.
・Final Tournament competitors must obtain a valid passport, visa and other authorizations to allow entry into the country where the Final Tournament will take place. Failure to enter the country will be treated as a no-show.
・Final Tournament competitors will be required to pay taxes on the prize money received, as dictated by tax laws and regulations. Prize money received is also subject to withholding tax under Japanese law; therefore, the monetary value that a Final Tournament competitor will receive will be the difference between the prize amount mentioned above and the Japanese withholding tax (calculated according to the laws of Japan).
・Final Tournament terms and conditions, specific rules, and other information will be made available at a later date.
Personal information
・ The SWC administration will use the information obtained regarding players (personal information, photographs, videos, etc.) to run and promote this tournament.
Notice
・ There may be changes to tournament dates (postponement, suspension, cancellation, etc) and/or tournament details (prize cancellation, etc) at the discretion of the tournament organizers and operators, for reasons beyond their control. These reasons include (but are not limited to) mechanical problems, software problems, disasters, accidents, epidemics, spread of infectious diseases, changes in legislation, among others. Tournament organizers and operators will not be responsible for any changes and will not be responsible for compensating tournament competitors for any expenses incurred by those competitors.
・ Tournament organizers and operators will not be responsible for resolving disputes between multiple competitors (or between competitors and third parties) that do not violate applicable laws.
