Al Wahda’s Preparation for ADNOC Professional Football League After King Salman Cup Success

ABU DHABI, 7th August, 2020 (WAM) — Pitso Musimani, coach of Al Wahda team, confirmed that his team’s participation in the King Salman Cup for Clubs Championship contributed to its strong preparation for the ADNOC Professional Football League competition, through the technical and physical gains it achieved from the tournament matches.
He explained that all the team’s matches in the King Salman Cup were in front of strong clubs, which will have a major role in supporting his team in the league competition that starts on August 18.
Yesterday, Sunday, Al-Wahda bid farewell to the King Salman Cup competitions, losing to Saudi youth by penalty kicks, in the quarter-finals, following the original time of the match ended in a goalless draw.
Al-Wahda participated in the King Salman Cup, following going through two preliminary stages of the qualifiers before qualifying to participate in the group stage, from which it qualified for the quarter-finals.
Al-Hay Jumaa, the former technical director of the unit, confirmed that the team achieved many positive gains before participating in the new season of the “ADNOC” Professional League, the most prominent of which was the experience of many new players, especially citizens, as well as foreign players.
He added, “One of the most important advantages of participation is playing matches once morest big teams with all their stars, and thus the technical and physical gains have doubled, which also includes harmony between old and new players.”
During his career in the King Salman Cup, Al-Wehda played 8 matches, including 4 matches in the first and second preliminary rounds, during which he achieved victory over the Lebanese Tower back and forth, and once morest the Royal Moroccan Army, and tied once morest the same team, and in the group stage he played 3 matches and won once morest Kuwait.
