Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Tweeters interacted with the words of the Egyptian analyst and former player, Mohamed Aboutrika, regarding Saudi club contracts following the acquisition of the Public Investment Fund, as he defended the Kingdom’s right to develop its “national product” on Sunday.

Aboutrika said in the analytical studio of the “Charitable Shield” (English Super Cup) match between Manchester City and Arsenal, regarding the contracts of Saudi clubs: “A big project… bringing in stars… I hope for continuity and the beginning was successful.”

The Egyptian analyst added, “There are Arab countries that can compete with European countries and compete with their leagues.”

Aboutrika added, directing his speech to critics of Saudi deals in European countries: “The louder the shouting… you pay money, and you paid in Gvardiol (the new City defender) and Manchester United also spent money… everyone spent money.”

And the former Egyptian player added: “When an Arab country comes to spend on its national product and its league, do you criticize it?” And he indicated the sign of silence following that.

Saudi and Arab singers interacted with these statements, praising Aboutrika’s opinion regarding the Saudi deals.
