A former beauty queen has been arrested and later released on bail for allegedly conspiring with two other people, including her lover, to kill her husband.
Lindsay Shiver, 36, Terrance Bethel, 28, and Faron Newbold, 29, were taken into custody late last month following police investigating a crime at a Guana Cay bar discovered WhatsApp messages that allegedly described their plan to kill Lindsay Shiver’s husband Robert Shiver, Bahamas Court News reports.

The former beauty queen, who won the title of Miss Houston County in 2005, is also said to have had an affair with Mr. Bethel.
According to the police report cited by the Thomasville Times-Enterprise, Lindsay Shiver, Mr. Bethel and Mr. Newbold on July 16 “agreed to commit an offense, namely the murder of [Robert] Shiver.»

Ms. Lindsay and her husband, Robert Shiver, together own a home in the Bahamas. However, when the latter learned that his wife was having an affair, he filed for divorce.
CNN reports that he cited his wife’s “adulterous conduct” as the reason for the separation.
Lindsay Shiver, meanwhile, wrote in her divorce petition that she had “run up debts beyond her means” and was asking her husband to pay them.

But at the end of this whole story, Lindsay Shiver was instead given a bail of 100,000 dollars (C$133,000).
Bail for the other two suspects has been set at $20,000 (C$27,000).
Although the trio have been granted bail, each of the three defendants must wear an electronic bracelet.
Ms. Shiver has further been ordered to remain in the Bahamas until her court appearance on October 5.
