Highlighting the Resilience and Excitement at the Carnival of the Sun in Houffalize despite Adverse Weather Conditions

It was the first time that it was easy to clear a passage during the procession of the Carnival of the Sun, in Houffalize. This Sunday, August 6 followingnoon, the thirty-two floats paraded under a national drache which left no respite to any carnival group. It was also necessary to wait for the departure of the procession to see the main street of the city fill up slightly, unlike previous editions. The public was indeed shy, some preferring to skip the highlight of the show this weekend given the weather.

On the other hand, it took more to discourage the carnival-goers who marched mostly with a smile. The big drops didn’t stop anyone from dancing, singing and cheering on the visitors. This is the case of the Carnival of the Sun group which took the start last with Princess Estelle and King Laurent on board. It should be noted that the heavy rains and the wind did not spoil the floats and the costumes, each as beautiful as the other, for this 21st edition.
