In Chacao, no one is alone and, through the Directorate of Social Development, we execute the Volunteers for Chacao Program, with the aim of providing care, care and well-being services to all the elderly in the municipality.
This initiative aims to encourage the support and solidarity of all Chacaoans with our beloved Prolonged Youth.
Our intention is that all older adults living in Chacao be part of the social programs and the most valuable task for all Chacaoans is to help us locate, contact, and convene older adults; especially those who are in a state of vulnerability.
The more people join this initiative, the older adults of Chacao will immediately begin to benefit from social accompaniment, medical attention (including medicines), and enjoying recreational, cultural, and sports activities.
In addition, Chacao executes the Prolonged Youth Program, through the Social Development Directorate to provide accompaniment, nutritional support, sports and leisure activities to improve their cognitive and physical condition.
In Venezuela, according to the civil organization CONVITE, approximately 4,500,000 older adults are in a frankly vulnerable condition, not only because of health issues but also because of food. And between 500,000 and 600,000 people over the age of 70 live alone.
In the midst of this panorama, the Director of Chacao Development and Social Management, Carlos Luis García, highlighted that through the Prolonged Youth Program, accompaniment, nutritional support, recreational and sports activities are offered to ensure the physical, mental and emotional health of our older adults.
It is a task that moves us and motivates us daily when we see their joy in participating in each of the plans and projects that we carry out with the support of private companies.
