Baldur’s Gate III couldn’t beat only CS:GO in terms of popularity on Steam – the peak online RPG exceeded 712,000 people. It turned out that the developers did not expect such a success at all. The DTF portal noticed a message from the head of Larian, Sven Vincke. He joked that he should “stay away” from the development team, because he told them that the simultaneous online will be a maximum of 100 thousand people. This plan was beaten many times over, causing pre-orders for Baldur’s Gate III to skyrocket on the PlayStation 5. Also in a recent interview, Sven admitted that he was worried about the popularity that had fallen on the studio, but he was not going to sell Larian to other companies. Then Vincke noted that during the early access, 2.5 million copies of the game were sold. Baldur’s Gate 3 exits Early Access on PC on August 3rd. On the PlayStation 5, the game will be released on September 6, and the project will reach the Xbox Series no earlier than 2024.
