The Ukrainian army attacked the center of Donetsk on Saturday night with cluster munitions, confirmed the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which monitors Ukrainian war crimes.
The agency denounced the launch of four 155 mm projectiles from the town of Netáilovo towards three neighborhoods of Donetsk. More than an hour later, kyiv forces fired another cluster projectile into the city, the Joint Control and Coordination Center reported.
Videos released in the media show the National University of Economics and Commerce on fire. It is still unknown if there are victims of the attack.
Emergency services are working at the scene to extinguish the fires, provide relief and investigate the damage caused by the attacks on the Kuibyshevsky, Kiyevsky and Voroshilovksi neighborhoods.
Hours earlier, the interim head of the region, Denis Pushilin, announced that two women died on Saturday due to several Ukrainian attacks once morest the cities of Donetsk and Gorlovka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
In addition, nine people were injured following attacks on the towns of Gorlovka, Yasinovátaya and Novopetrikovka. Pushilin detailed that, in the three towns, at least 10 homes were affected, as well as another civil facility in Donetsk.
