“For this reason, we have already implemented a large number of projects in recent years,” says Karl Lehner, Managing Director of the OÖG. In the laundry of the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Klinikum Steyr, around 37,000 kilowatt hours of heat are saved each year by using preheated waste water.

In the Salzkammergut Klinikum Bad Ischl, a thermal solar system is in use, while at the Klinikum Schärding a recooling system was installed, which reduces energy consumption. All regional clinics of the OÖG as well as the Kepler University Clinic will also participate in the Ministry of Health’s “Advice on climate-friendly healthcare facilities” project.
