NBA – Bam Adebayo and Damian Lillard developed a real friendship during the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. They might be reunited once more under the same jersey, in Miami.

Back from South Africa where he took part in a “Basketball Without Borders” camp, Bam Adebayo started the fifth edition of its “Bam Youth Basketball Clinic” with Josh Richardson, returning to the Heat during the offseason. In contact with the youngest, the All-Star pivot was able to witness the wait around the Damian Lillard case and the possibility of seeing the Portland leader join Miami.

The proof with the insistent questions of his “campers” on the situation.

“I can’t really answer them right now, because I don’t know what’s going to happen. But the most important thing is that it’s a business. Everyone wants it to make sense”, he summarized. “We know that each side wants it to make sense, and of course the other side does. So I feel like it’s just a matter of patience until they come to an agreement and it eventually happens.”

Lots of commonalities

The American international also spoke regarding the friendship between the two players born of their common adventure with Team USA during the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games where they won gold once morest the French team. Damian Lillard has already spoken regarding it publicly during a podcast last June, stating that Bam Adebayo has really become one of his relatives.

Attention that touched the pivot of Miami for whom the personality of the two players sticks rather well off the field.

“It says a lot regarding the person I am that we can say that outside of basketball, we really spend time together. It says a lot regarding my character, my skills on the pitch, the things I do to get the job done on the pitch and my mentality.”

he added. “We have a lot of common character traits, whether it’s in demeanor, the way he functions, he speaks, his way of being. We have a lot of those things in common. Dame isn’t the most exuberant person, and neither am I. We are two fairly down-to-earth people who get along well”.
