The ICT (Information and Communication Technology market) should reach US$ 80 billion (R$ 379.45 billion) in Brazil in 2023, according to a projection released by the consultancy IDC Brazil. This is a 5% expansion compared to the previous year.
The IT sector (Information Technology) should grow 6.2% until December, driven by demand from companies, which should grow 8.7%. For the telecommunications segment, in turn, the study IDC Predictions Brazil 2023 predicts an increase of 3%, in the wake of the “growing importance of connectivity”, mainly due to the expansion of 5G and the cloud.
In the analysis of Thomaz Reis Damasceno, CTO of Tiggo market – a company that provides software solutions for startups and SaaS companies (Software as a Service) -, the investment scenario in the area in Brazil is promising.
“It is estimated that more than half of the software investments in the country will be dedicated to SaaS in 2023, indicating a significant expansion in this area”, he says, citing data from the IDC.
