Two people were deprived of their liberty this Friday, August 4, 2023 in the evening, the Luxembourg prosecutor’s office said on Saturday. A double arrest which takes place in the context of an arson attack in a gîte in Vielsalm, which occurred this Friday around 5.35 p.m. A fire fortunately very, very limited with some damage. So it wasn’t a big fire. But, according to the firefighters, it is an intentional fire.
When the police arrived on the scene, they contacted the neighborhood as part of their investigation. Two neighbors rebelled a little bit and one said “we set the fire because we are fed up with the nuisances of the gîte”. The two individuals were a little under the influence of alcohol at the time of the facts. The prosecution ordered a whole series of duties to the police in order to shed light on the facts.
