Within the framework of the visit to Córdoba by the Minister of Economy Sergio Massa, the Córdoba Chamber of Metallurgical and Components Industrialists (Cimcc) warned regarding the incidence of the recent measure announced by the Nation, mainly the tax on imports (PAIS tax ) and that have a direct impact on the productive sector.
Within this framework, this week he held a meeting with the Minister of Industry of the province of Córdoba, Eduardo Accastello, and with the authorities of the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of the Argentine Republic (Adimra), to whom they expressed the deep discomfort of the sector in Córdoba in the face of the measures that they consider “plainly and simply a big tax” that directly threatens the country’s export activity.
In this way, the Cimcc joined other business entities that question the measures implemented by Massa, within the framework of the agreement with the IMF.
In this framework, they also expressed that the measures increase the inflationary effect that impacts the entire industrial arc, but with greater intensity in SMEs than those that require imported inputs for production.
“We consider it irrational and intolerable to continue deepening the permanent blow to which the productive sector of Argentina has been exposed for a long time,” said the metallurgical entity.
In the meetings held during the week, Cimcc executives requested support from the various government departments to ensure that metallurgical SMEs are exempted from the PAIS tax, at least with regard to exportable production or contained in the national integration of products destined for the external market.
