A couple has had not one memorable Disney-themed wedding day, but four and are planning two more “Disney weddings.”
Shellie, whose last name was withheld at her request, had never dreamed of a big wedding, but following saying yes to her husband at Disneyland Resort in 2016, she returned to the California theme park three times to renew his vows.
“Once you’ve had a Disney wedding, you’re just hooked and want another one,” she told NBC News.
To avoid bombarding her friends and family on her social networks, the woman even created an Instagram account which she named “The Serial Bride”. It is via this platform that she shares photos of her first wedding at Disneyland, but also of her ceremony under the theme of Star Wars to renew her vows as well as wedding photos captured at Walt Disney World, in Florida.
The bride, however, confessed that the idea of getting married at the theme park was more her husband’s since Disneyland was “their place”, “where we can run away together and forget regarding everyday life”, she clarified.
It was during the ceremony that the two Disney fans realized they wished the magic had lasted longer.
“We had no idea our wedding day would pass so quickly and honestly, we both wish we had more time at our reception to eat and dance. The day was very different from what we expected for our wedding,” Shellie explained.
Thus, they decided to renew their vows three times rather than once. However, these were smaller ceremonies.
“The people who know and love me the most are supportive of my choices as long as I’m happy and don’t go into debt with these unnecessary vow renewals,” she said.
Disney weddings being very expensive, the couple must have a very strict budget to succeed in affording these ceremonies. Thus, Shellie has already planned her budget for the next five years in order to be able to afford her next “Disney weddings”.
