Barca treated well; Yet he cheated: Savi
Coach Xavi has expressed his disappointment in Barcelona player Ousmane Dembele’s decision to join French giant PSG. There were reports that Dembele was parting ways with the Blaugrana citing that Barca might not match PSG’s offer.
Xavi said that they cannot compete with the offer made by PSG and is disappointed with Dembele’s decision. Xavi also said that despite being treated well, Dembele was cheating. This was reported by Barca Center quoting Xavi.
‘Dembele told us that he has received a proposal from PSG and is leaving Barcelona. He did not play in the last match because he had to leave. That is cheating. I am disappointed at the club’s decision to leave despite treating him well. We cannot compete with PSG’s offer,’ Xavi said.
The French giants made a smart move to acquire the star. Dembele’s release clause is 50 million. But the contract for this release clause was to expire on July 30. So PSG’s aim was to submit a bid for Dembele on the last day of the release clause.
This is a big setback for Barcelona. In 2017, Barca acquired the player from German club Borussia Dortmund. Barca acquires Dembele as a replacement for Neymar.
