Brian Setzer released the music video for “Girl On The Billboard”. Directed by Andrew William Ralph, it is available via the player below:
“Girl on the Billboard” is a title popularized in 1965 by country singer Del Reeves. “It’s a piece of old trucker” says Brian Setzer. “I didn’t manage to get the sound I wanted at first, then I took my [guitare] Gretsch 1957 Duo Jet 6131 Firebird. The sound is monstrous, dirty and cheeky. »
This cover is taken from The Devil Always Collects, his next studio album, due out September 15. This is his first album under the name Brian Setters to go out from Gotta Have The Ramble, released in 2021. The singer and guitarist of Stray Cats exposes as always his rockabilly influences, with a hint of country and punk.
This disc will also be an opportunity for the musician to return to the stage following four years of absence. For now, the only concerts scheduled will take place in the United States. His last solo visit to France dates back to 2005.
