Jean-Pierre Serre is a French mathematician born September 15, 1926 in Bages (Pyrรฉnรฉes-Orientales). He is considered one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century. He received numerous awards for his research, including the Fields medal (The Fields medal is the most prestigious award for the recognition of workโฆ) in 1954, making him the youngest to be awarded. He is also the first winner of the Abel Prize, created in 2003.

Jean-Pierre Serre (Jean-Pierre Serre is a French mathematician born on September 15, 1926โฆ) was born in 1926 in Bages, of pharmacist parents. During his studies at the Nรฎmes high school, he was awarded first prize in mathematics (Mathematics is a field of abstract knowledge built using โฆ) at the General Competition. In 1945, at the age of 19, he entered the รcole Normale Supรฉrieure de la rue (The street is a traffic space in the city which serves housing and placesโฆ) in Ulm.
