Qualcomm will no longer use standard ARM CPU designs for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The reason is the purchase of NUVIA, a company specializing in CPU design. According to a rumor reported by the site wccftechthe Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be released in 2024 with custom Phoenix cores, but that’s not all that ended up being revealed, as information regarding the chipset’s CPU configuration also emerged.

Information regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 CPU is leaked.

Some time ago, Qualcomm even announced that it will use new Oryon cores in its next Snapdragon chipsets. Considering this information, the name “Phoenix” quoted by the leaker (leaker) Digital Chat Station is probably the architecture. Similar to Apple’s A-series chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will have two “Phoenix” cores and six “Phoenix M” cores.

If Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 uses fewer performance cores, Qualcomm’s new architecture may not need them to deliver good single-core and multi-core performance. Better performance can be influenced by LPDDR6 RAM memory support, which increases bandwidth and reduces power consumption.

Another information that has already been leaked several times is the production of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 using TSMC’s N3M process.

No smartphone maker has secure models with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, says rumor

Finally, leaker Digital Chat Station said that so far, manufacturers wanting to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in their smartphones are unknown. However, it’s not hard to guess that Samsung will probably use the new chipset in its phones.
