A man in his thirties was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek on Tuesday evening. This is reported by La Capitale and the news is confirmed by the Brussels prosecutor’s office.
“We can confirm that the police of the Brussels-North zone (Schaerbeek, Evere, Saint-Joost-ten-Node) intervened on the Chaussée de Haecht around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening following a violent dispute”, declared the public prosecutor’s office Stefan Vandevelde. “On the spot, they provided first aid to an injured 30-year-old, while waiting for the intervention of the emergency services”.
The victim was transferred to the hospital, but his life is no longer in danger. On Tuesday evening, a security zone was set up at the scene so that the necessary investigative acts might be carried out. The exact circumstances and the cause of the stabbing are not yet clear, said the Brussels prosecutor’s office.
According to La Capitale, it would be a conflict between two Syrian families following two arranged marriages that went wrong.
