The European Union seeks to deepen its commercial and social ties with Latin America and this was demonstrated in the last summit held with CELAC.

In this context, we communicate with Max Gregorio Cernadasformer Argentine ambassador to Europe, who spoke regarding the country’s geopolitical situation.

Situation in the European Union and international policy of the country

“The situation changed resoundingly in the world, the new trade and security strategies seek a balance”, said Cernadas, who later completed: “Budapest and Hungary have a very complicated political position because the Slavic, German and Muslim world meet”.

“These migration problems are frequent and date back several centuries,” shot the interviewee. “There are macro problems that Argentina has that are decisive, but the diplomatic part must also be addressed.: We have very limited resources in the embassies to do commercial promotion”, he added.

Along the same lines, the former ambassador said that the country has to have consistency between words and actions. “The next government has to take the role of foreign trade more seriously”he explained.

“I opened the embassy in Berlin at the beginning of 2000 and we didn’t have money to pay for electricity and at the same time we are exporters of nuclear energy technology”, he explained regarding the dilemmas that the country presents in the world.

Finally, Cernadas asked that the next government not start all international trade policy from scratch. “There must be experienced people, amateurism in this matter is very expensive,” concluded.
