No respite for new phones during the summer, many of them have passed through our hands. This period saw several high-end devices scrambled, all selling for more than 700 euros. Nothing, Asus and Xiaomi are the three representatives of the month of August, with three radically different approaches, especially on design.

A unique design with the Glyph Nothing OS: an interface that changes Solid performance

The Nothing Phone (2) is the second version of the UFO phone from Nothing, a very young brand created by the co-founder of OnePlus. The model is undergoing an upgrade that allows it to display great features, starting with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The manufacturing quality and finishes of the transparent smartphone go up a notch. The Glyph, embodied by the LED strips on the back of the phone, is still very present and has its little effect. The Phone (2) thus displays great qualities, including a large 6.7-inch Oled screen, good performance without heating, an efficient and balanced camera, as well as an interface with an original and customizable proposal. Autonomy remains average. On the other hand, we regret the absence of sealing certification.
If you want a phone different from what is usually done, the Phone (2) is an option to consider.

A very pleasant compact format Particularly powerful Autonomy at the top

After the very successful Zenfone 9, Asus is back with the Zenfone 10. The manufacturer (better known for its laptops) keeps a very compact format, but the rest of the formula has been refined. The Zenfone 10 is a joy to take in hand, with just one hand! The build quality is exemplary and the 5.9-inch AMOLED panel ticks all the boxes. The jack and welcome, as well as the IP68 waterproof certification. Zen UI offers a sober interface, with some specific features that are welcome. This is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which once once more works wonders, both on raw performance and power management. As a result, the Zenfone 10 offers an impressive two-day battery life. We still regret the lack of versatility of the camera, which is not quite at the level of competitors in the same range.
Cute, powerful and durable, the Zenfone 10 is a quality proposition for anyone with the budget.

Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship, most powerful smartphone for 2023: the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The Chinese brand’s ultra high-end model has the merit of taking care of its look, with the use of textured vegan leather that gives it the look of a film camera. The manufacturer has also put the package on the screen: 6.73 inches, Oled, WQHD +, 120 Hz in LTPO, and excellent maximum brightness. Connectivity level, it’s all good, with Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS L1 + L5. It is equipped with the same chip as the Zenfone 10 and like it, it will not flinch whatever the situation. In photo, on paper, the phone puts the package, with in particular two telephoto lenses and an ultra wide angle of 50 Mpx. In practice, the photos will certainly be above the average for smartphones, but not at the level of a Galaxy S23 Ultra, especially at night.
With the 13 Ultra, Xiaomi still manages to demonstrate what it can play in the big leagues.
