A single father in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India, found that his 7-month-old baby’s belly was abnormally swollen and he was crying for no reason. He took him to the doctor on July 24, only to find out that there was a heavy lump in the baby’s abdomen. Fortunately, the 2 kg fetus was successfully removed through surgery and is currently in good health.

according to”india today” reported that a 7-month-old baby was sent to the children’s hospital in Prayagraj (Prayagraj) because the father found that the baby would always cry inexplicably and his stomach was abnormally swollen. Doctors discovered through CT tomography that an unidentified object appeared in the baby’s abdomen. After 4 hours of surgery, it was removed and it turned out to be a fetus weighing 2 kilograms.

The medical team pointed out that the baby suffered from a rare “fetus in foetu (fetus in fetu)”, but fortunately recovered well following the operation and is now very healthy. It is reported that “fetus-in-fetus” was recorded by the British Medical Journal as early as 1808. Although the parasitic fetus has no independent viability, it is still a living tissue in the host body, and often grows with the host. There is no abnormality in the initial stage , discomfort does not occur until the host organ is compressed, and is therefore often ignored.
