The productivity of the tourism industry continues to grow significantly.
At the end of June 2023, foreign currency travel receipts reached 47.8 billion dirhams, an exceptional growth of 43% compared to the same period in 2019, specifies the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Economy. Social and Solidarity in a press release.
The month of June contributed strongly to this performance with 7.2 billion dirhams, an increase of 45% compared to June 2019.
This positive dynamic is the result of the significant increase in arrivals at the end of June, which stood at 6.5 million, representing a growth of 21% compared to the same period of 2019.
Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy is delighted: “We can attribute these record achievements to several factors. First of all, our country is experiencing an exceptional Momentum internationally driven by the Enlightened Vision of His Majesty, King Mohammed VI, may God assist him in terms of Soft Power and planetary exposure during the World Cup 2022. Furthermore, from a sectoral point of view, the government’s efforts to support operators have been crucial, whether through the 2 billion dirham emergency plan, the continuous promotion or the implementation of the roadmap, in particular the strengthening of air links.
