Epec’s word
The Cordoba Provincial Energy Company (Epec) canceled the clandestine connection following the accident.
The spokesman for the provincial company, Alfredo Camponovo, explained to The voice that the personnel of the northern guard company acted as a result of the police complaint, verified the improper connection and eliminated it. In this way, he cleared the risk that put people’s lives at risk.
“The pillar was electrified. We understand that the minor touched him and there was a risk to his life,” Camponovo said.
In addition, he clarified that there are always these types of clandestine connections, be they parallel “sticks”, “hooks”, among others, and they can make serious mistakes like the one that happened to the child.
“The risks are not measured and what interests them is having light, especially places where heating is only with energy,” he clarified.
There are many cases where voltage levels “drop” because they do not pay for electricity. In some sectors where this happens, it is rarely reported.
In addition, Camponovo remarked that the illegal operations are carried out by anonymous complaints and by regular operations in different areas, especially those with the highest risk due to this type of connection, and then make the minutes. “The important thing is to avoid them so that they do not put people’s lives at risk,” he warned.
