dance louder
It’s beautiful, dancing. To film. To feel. To admire. Mouria Meddour, director of a promising Papicha, hangs her lens once more on Lyna Khoudri’s face, this time turning her into a sublime dancer that an attack will leave on the floor. She will have to rebuild herself, surrounded by other women who will carry her and whom her art can help in return.
There is fire in Lyna Khoudri’s game, a blaze ignited by this moving character that the sorority can save. The director shows a vision of Algeria without complacency and gives a voice to women, whose voices, ironically, are almost never heard in the film.
With the exception of a tad predictable, Houria is a timely and powerful new achievement.
« Houria », 19,99 € (DVD).

Killing is almost playing
It had been… a long time since François Ozon had brought a bit of levity to his filmography. And by discovering the first images of my crime, one might fear that the director and screenwriter would get lost on the way in this theatrical story. But in this assumed farce, caustic criticism of our time through the prism of the 1930s, is both spirited and invigorating, daring and mischievous, while being a formidable playground for very well served actresses and stooge actors. of choice. And since happiness never comes alone, the lively and deliciously retro spirit of this comedy continues in a beautiful and dense batch of bonuses (on the blu-ray), including a making of almost 90 minutes long, interviews with the crew, light blooper and deleted scenes. A valuable addition!
“My crime”, €19.99 (DVD or blu-ray).
