MONTREAL — CF Montreal traded defenseman Rudy Camacho to the Columbus Crew for general allocation money of US$400,000 on Monday.
The Bleu-blanc-noir will receive $200,000 in 2023 and $200,000 in 2024 in return for the 32-year-old defender.

CF Montreal acquired Camacho on March 22, 2018 from Belgian club Waasland-Beveren.
In six seasons in Montreal, the central defender played 128 season games in MLS, scoring seven goals. He appeared in three playoff games, obtaining an assist.
Named Montreal defensive player of the year in 2021, Camacho also played five games in the Concacaf Champions League, 14 in the Canadian Championship and two in the League Cup.
The Frenchman will find head coach Wilfried Nancy in Columbus, who led him for 59 MLS season games with CF Montreal, in 2021 and 2022.
